Austin startup Casata developing micro home communities as affordable housing alternative

Austin-based startup Casata Corp. aims to harness the market power of two burgeoning housing trends: micro homes and build-to-rent communities.

Casata’s micro homes range in size from 400 to 758 square feet. Micro homes homes are typically used as accessory dwelling units, or ADUs, sitting in backyards or in-filling empty space on large lots. Casata, on the other hand, plans to create whole communities.
